Black Fly Loop

THE BLACK FLY LOOP

MAINE’S LONGEST LOOP TRAIL

Like the hub of a great wheel, the Black Fly Loop circles the heart of Franklin County, connecting the spokes that comprise the more than 300 miles of well groomed mountain trails. These trails reach North through Eustis, Jackman and The Forks; West to Rangeley, Oquossoc and New Hampshire; East to Carrabassett Valley, Kingfield and North New Portland; South to Farmington, Wilton and Weld.

The Black Fly Loop has the widest variety of trails available in the East. These uncrowded trails wander through stands of pine and climb majestic mountains.  Spectacular lookouts abound from mountaintops to glacier valleys and from lakes to ponds. Picturesque New England towns and villages provide service and amenities for all tastes. You could catch a moose or deer drinking in one of the small streams, so bring your cameras and discover the magic places The Black Fly Loop has to offer.

SnoGoer Magazine and Snowmobile Magazine considers this region to be one of the top 40 snowmobiling HOT SPOTS in the United States and Canada. (see October 1997 issues)
