There are PLENTY of back-country trails to explore here in Maine's High Peaks, whether you're out for a trek up the Narrow Gauge Pathway on your snowshoes, or ready for that xc ski workout at the Outdoor Center.

There's just as much going on with cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the High Peaks Region! Expect well groomed trails and terrain that any level cross country skier will enjoy. Just as their website says, the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center "is Maine's Largest Nordic center" with over 54 miles of marked, maintained, and patrolled trails for your cross country skiing experience. The Outdoor Center also offers many miles of maintained snowshoe trails, all marked on the trail map. Maine Huts & Trails also offers both xc skiing and snowshoeing on their trails to the huts! Check out The Huts page to see if there are trails groomed for either sport! And don't forget Saddleback! The mountain offers the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center, which has an additional 34 miles of cross country skiing and snowshoeing!
